Wedding Celebrant Central Scotland

Ceremonies Packed with Scottishness!

Hi I’m Celebrant Lindy!

Scotland… the land of ancient castles, mysterious lochs and misty glens, where everyone you meet has a way with words and a story to tell. And if there is one thing that Scots people love more than anything else… it’s a good celebration! Whether it’s a Marriage Ceremony, Wedding Blessing, Commitment Ceremony, Handfasting, Vow Renewal, Coming of Age Ceremony, Blessing a New House or Wetting the Baby’s Head … us Scots love a shindig!

Hello! and welcome. I’m Celebrant Lindy, an Interfaith Minister & Celebrant based in beautiful Central Scotland, and I have the best job in the world helping people to celebrate some of life’s major milestones. You can find out a bit more about me and my background here, but if you’re planning a celebration and would like a celebrant who is warm, friendly, professional and who creates ceremonies for people of all faiths and none, then why not get in touch?

Fun, Relaxed Weddings in Scotland

Fun, Relaxed and Meaningful Ceremonies

Every Celebrant you meet will have a different style, and so when choosing a Celebrant it's important to find one whose style aligns with what you envisage for your ceremony. So for example, if you imagine your ceremony to be laid-back and fun, or traditional and reverential then you should seek out a Celebrant who delivers their ceremonies in that way.

Most of my couples choose me because my style is fun and relaxed, but still meaningful.

But how can you get to see a Celebrants style? The best way would be to try and be present at one of their ceremonies, but if that's not possible then the next best way is to watch videos of them in action. I try to put as many wee videos as possible on my website so that potential couples & families can see if I'm a fit for them before they even get in touch.

Ancient Wedding Rituals

I love weddings! I love everything about weddings! The love story, the outfits, the guests, the vows, the rings… everything!… and I absolutely adore rituals because they’re such an important and meaningful part of any wedding ceremony.  Whether it’s the beautiful exchanging of the vows, lighting a unity candle or having your hands bound together in an ancient Handfasting, rituals are the heart and soul of a ceremony.

And yet, so many of the ways in which a couple can be legally married are devoid of these sacred ceremonial rituals, which is such a shame because although most couples who choose a Celebrant don’t want a religious ceremony, they still want it to carry the “weight” of a religious ceremony, and for me, rituals are what bring solemnity and grace to the proceedings.

For this reason and because it’s an honour to be asked to be a part of such a special occasion, I never take a ceremony lightly. Instead, I see every couple as completely unique and so try to make sure that every ceremony is completely unique.
